I Finally Did It

Today I met with an attorney. Just to get details but it is one more step that I kept putting off. Now I know where I stay. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

I'm curious......is TN a community property and no-fault state for divorce? Are there any things that change if you have an alcoholic spouse?

Tennessee is an equity state, DII. As with every state (with the exception of New York), it is also a no-fault state, although there are grounds that the court still recognizes; particularly adultery and desertion.

planet ... I'm glad you saw an attorney. It's a positive step and equips you with important information you'll need in case you decide to take legal action.

Nice one, planet.

Information really is the key in this situation. You may never have to use it, but you put yourself in a much better position to make decisions with the knowledge behind you.

Also, taking action helps me feel much less stuck and much more in control of my own life.

That was an important step for me, too. It takes courage, planet - good luck with everything!
