First holiday without him

I just had the best holiday I can remember having in FOREVER and no alcohol involved(no alcoholic hubby either)! It was so great! There were about 30 of us. We had a cookout, rode four wheelers, played poker, popped fireworks. It was so much fun! I can't remember the last time I laughed so much.

A few times I felt my mind wandering to my AH. I wondered what he was up to and how he was handling the night. But, not for long. Do you know he had the nerve to text me and see if I'd come fix him something to eat. DELETE!

But, I felt a little bit guilty over the fact that I had such a great time tonight and he was probably home alone. But that's not my fault, right!? I know it's not but I still feel a little bad about it. But shoot, he ruined enough holidays for me...I deserve a good time...and that's what I had tonight and I wanted to share it with ya'll!!

It's funny to me that my first great holiday (in forever) was independence day! Kind of ironic, don't ya think!?

I'm so glad you had a good time. Please don't feel too guilty about him sitting alone at home getting drunk. After all, if that's what he's doing, it's his choice, isn't it? And I think it's great that you could enjoy celebrating your OWN Independence Day!!

You put the independent in independence day. Having fun is what it is all about. If you can't have it as a couple than you must find joy on your own. Cheers.

That is really cool, independence and freedom to enjoy on the 4th.
I know what ruined holidays are like!
Way to go on hitting the delete!
Wish I had been at your party! Cookout and ATV.....what fun!
And what a joy that you had a great time and got to laugh alot.
That's what it is all about!
And it suits you nicely!
Do it again the next chance you get!

Why not stop reading the messages all together? Obviously if there is fun to be had, he will ***** your party balloon. I'm trying to imagine texting someone to come and make me something to eat........that's just plain pathetic.
I'm sure in his mind you have just been sitting there waiting to hear from him.
What's he thinking? A hot dog and a little desert?
Why not make yesterday a turning point?

I too viewed 'independence day' as my own special holiday as it took on a whole new meaning for me. It felt as though fireworks had been lit just for me...to help me celebrate my new life! Ahhhh....freedom at last!!! How sweet it is!!!

Glad to see you are finding that pleasant things in life really do exist. You sound so happy!!!

Don't feel guilty at all!

HE'S LIVING THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS CHOICES AND ACTIONS.

Turn off the text messaging, how insulting.

Unreal about the text...Hey - I'm feeling kinda hungry right now...you wanna hop on a plane and fix me something? My hand it too weak to push the microwave button to heat up some cup-o-noodles!

LOL! I know, Cage, it's ridiculous! I was racing down the road on a 4-wheeler and I thought, "that fool is crazy!" But, I was almost the crazy one for ALMOST letting him ruin my night!

This morning I'm still on the high from having such a great time!!
I forgot what fun was like!

Well, Sista,,,your A's alcoholism isn't the ONLY progression I see here,,,

BUT,,,YOURS is so freakin HEALTHY?!?!?!?

Chero, all I could think when I read this thread was how far you have come. From that scared little girl a few months ago, to a strong confident woman who KNOWS she's doing the RIGHT THING!!!Ya think your HP timed this fun just right?!?!?!?

"come make me something to eat" sounds like a pretty good DRUNK to me. If I played that tape through, mine wouldn't even remember he asked,,,LOL

And you go girl on that 4 wheeler!!! Maybe you should jump outta a plane next? he,he,he,,,,,,

Onward and upward hey?

Peace
