Question about Sponser
Question about Sponser
I've been sober 19 days now and have been attending AA meetings. There is a lady in my group that I used to work with; she is a very sweet person. I'm thinking of asking her to be my sponser as she has many years of sobriety. What I'm wondering is: Would it be better to choose a sponser that I'm not as familiar with? Does it make a difference? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Actaully that how i got my sponsor.
He was a saleman that use visit my office all the time.
He was a straight shooter, never pressed me into buying
anything, or threw a bounch of sales pitch at me.
Which I thought was a bit odd..for a salesman.
I gave him bussiness becuase he was honest and fair.
well...i found out why he was like that..lol
He kept his annomimity pretty good..
I knew him anyways..so there you go.

My first sponsee was an office acquaintance.
It was very a positive experience.
Do read the AA pamphlet
"Questions and Answers on Sponsorship"
it is usually on the free literature rack.
