What a great weekend
What a great weekend
Wow such a busy weekend...Saturday i had my 1 year of sobriety, i still cant believe i have made it a whole year.
Our adopted son turned 19 yesterday and our son turned 16 today.
We spent the weekend at the ballpark, my husband was in a softball tournament and i am official scorekeeper for his team, was kind of funny sitting there all day saturday being proud of the year behind me and watching so many people drink, a few of the guys on the team who dont quite know us to well bought us beers after the first game and it was so awesome to look at them with a smile and say .....awww thanks but we dont drink, a water or gatorade would be awesome instead.
Then that night during the homerun contest there was a lady her husband and son looking around to find a spot to sit down and i overheard her tell her family, lets sits here behind these people they seem to be the only other ones out here NOT drinking or drunk........I felt like bursting, i wanted to stand up and hug her she will never have any idea what she said ment so much to me.
I am so proud of myself and this past year, I am so happy to have this place i am still such a newbie at sobriety i have a long way to go still but i have tackled the first year and to all the newcomers let me tell you this, i am not a strong person or at least i never thought i was until now, it is amazing what find out about yourself.
I just want to send out a huge thank you to all who have helped me this past year and if it wasnt for this place and knowing that there are so many others like me i dont think i would of made it.
