500 days!
500 days!
whoa just checked the sober calculator and i happen to have 500 days today. i give all the glory to God, creator of the universe. On January 29, 2006 i was raised from the dead by God himself. i learned a valuable lesson that day...God is Faithful even if you dont have Faith yourself. when times are tough i trust God. when times are good i praise God. thank you to all people in Alcoholics Anonymous for reminding me on a daily basis that God has restored me to sanity. i am no longer full flight from reality and that is a miracle!

Congratulations!! That is wonderful news.
I am so very happy for you. Thank you for sharing, it gives me the hope and inspiration that is truly needed through these days of despair I have been going through.

That's wonderful! I went from being an agnostic a couple of years ago to a believer finally after much book reading. I had intellectual problems with it but now I found it to be a heart thing not so much a mind thing.
When I'm feeling very spirtual, I have no problems not drinking but I forget and don't think much about God for a while and I get weaker about alcohol. I need to remember every day.
I don't know about attending AA again when I get my license back in 3 week.... I'm thinking I'll get counseling in church by someone that knows about alcoholism. I don't know why I have an aversion to AA. I hope I get over it. I didn't go for the 22 years I was sober but I read a lot of self-help books etc...... so I didn't white knuckle it at all. This relapse of mine has really thrown me for a loop, it's been a struggle for 2 years now to stay off of the booze. I've gone 6 months twice without drinking and 4 months once and a month here and there with short bouts of drinking but enough to get two DUIs, which I never had one until I was 50 years old. How embarrassing!
Chicago...
