prayers for my brother
as some of you know he is paraplegic. friday night he called 911 because he was bleeding.do you remember last november,i think it was, he was in the hospital with a bed sore that he had since oct.was a yr ago & later they had transferred him to a nursing home? he was doing good & fell out of the bed & was found unconscious & was in a coma for almost a week? you prayed for him then.i am asking prayers again.he has been home about 2 months & was bleeding so bad the paramedics could not get an iv in him. his blood pressure so so low & he had almost bleed out.the drs.could not tell where the blood was coming from except from the wound.they did surgery yesterday morning & it was coming from an artery inside the wound.they are talking amputation again.they are also talking about transfering him to Duke hospital tomorrow.please pray it will not come to amputation.please pray the drs. can get this wound under control & well.this october will be 2 yrs. he has been in the bed with this bed sore.i do not understand it at all.two yrs. in oct.you all know me, i believe in the power of prayers & i believe in miracles.he is only 46yrs old.thank you all for being here for me & walking this walk with me.i love u all, hope

Dear Hope, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Two yrs with a bedsore is a very long time. I am an RN, can I ask you what has been tried to heal it?
I also believe in the power of prayer. I will be praying for your brother. ( what is his name?)
Love,
Diane

My prayers are w/ your brother. Most institutions have a wound care team w/ a nurse who specializes in wound care. They do wonderful work and I have seem some horrible wounds clear up and do fine.

thank you for the prayers.they are much needed & much appreciated.david is his name.he has been in one of the best hospitals, pitt memorial in greenville,n.c. some of the most well know drs.pratice there.rozied you asked what have they done for him? they have went in & scraped it out a couple of times.they have had him on a sand bed & then a new kind, sorry i am not good with medical termonology(?).the drs. have a machine on him that supposely keeps it sucked out. he has had this since oct.06.naturally he has been on high antibiotic.he lives by himself & has an aid come in from 12noon til 3an r.n. comes in every other day & measures his wound & cleans it & changes the bandage.at one time he developed a septic infection while he was in the hospital.me??? i can not understand why or what the problen is that it can not be cured or gotten well.as i said it is one of the best hospitals in eastern n.c.i hope they send him to duke,it is the best.from the hospital as i said he went to a nursing home before going home.they specialized in wound care. i have to give them credit, they did heal it up more than the hospital.it was 15 centimeters deep & when he went home it had healed to 3.i am just not good at this stuff.i could never be a dr.or a nurse. i am blessed that i have a sister that can translate for me.
