78 hours....feeling human again

Hey All- Finally starting to feel human again. The shakes and pain seemed to break last night and I woke up HUNGRY....I mean like starving. Its been so long since I've gone 3 days without a drink I forgot how good it feels to be sober...went to another mtg last night....I need to get back to the places that worked for me not against me. Thank you all

Hey Rob, glad the fog is lifting and you've got your appetite back.

It's not uncommon to forget how bad it was once we get a little sober time. Stay vigilant, and keep going to meetings. Re-read your previous posts - they will remind you of the he** you went through a couple of days ago.

Please keep posting - and don't drink, just for today.

Good Job. Please take heed to Rowan's words. I have done 30, 60 and 70 days only to forget how bad it gets and think that I can moderate. I am on Day 11 for the hundreth time and want to make sure that memory of "sickness" stays fresh this time.

Hello Rob-
you have every right to be very proud! and intake of food is a plus too!

As a side note... I just read the other day that alcohol robs your body of absorbing nutrients from the good food that you do eat if you are drinking. Interesting. I knew that it slowed down your metabolism, but not the other.

hang in there and stay strong! You are on the right path and thanks for coming to SR for some of your support. It helps us all.... the good, and the ugly.
