the process of recovery
the process of recovery
i haven't been online much, i am traveling a lot for work now and so my days and weeks are hectic. hope everyone is doing well. daughter completed 28 inpatient and is now in a halfway with 20 hours of outpatient/therapy. i've been detatching more this time around. it's harder this second time with relapse, to remain as hopeful? i pray and thank my higher power everyday for getting me/her/hubby this far in our recoveries. i'm starting to do more alanon service work now, and going to more open aa meetings. grateful for the opportunity to know others with the same struggles.
hugs and prayers to you and yours. we're all in this together - k

Hi K, thanks for the update, when I think of
my lover's days of worrying and wondering
if I was, am going to stay sober, I think how aweful
that must be, my heart goes out to you and your
family.....and keep feeling and sharing that love..
You are the woman....((((((((((((((PC))))))))))))) hope3

Parent,
You sound like you are doing all of the right things. I love the book that Al Anon has, "When I Got Busy, I Got Better." Service work and detaching are a winning combination. Keep it up, sister!
And glad your daughter is working on her recovery.
Keeping both of you in my prayers,
Hangin' In

I understand how you feel about feeling hopeful. Seems like I abandonded hope when my son went back to jail and will spend 3-5 years there all because he couldn't pass a pee test while on probation.
But, he is still alive, and he won't be doing drugs in there. Maybe there is hope after all!
