Raise your hand!
Raise your hand!
we were at a family session at daughter's rehab. the speaker asked the rehab residents how many had been told they would have to leave the house/kicked out if they continued to use. every addict/alcoholic in the room raised their hand - except our daughter!
um, excuse me - we have it writing on a contract and you signed it..
oh, i wanted to grab her hand/arm and raise it so bad.
we really have to get a grip on our boundaries over here. it's such a challenge for hubby and i.
the lessons we learn. blessings, k

Those family week experiences are soooo eye-opening! I was surprised just how in denial my daughter was about her own addiction, and her delusion of how much control she thought she had over her addiction.
And then, when I started MY recovery in Alanon, I was again shocked by how much my addiction to HER mirrored her addiction to drugs....
I wish you the best (((hugs)))
