Some optimisim

As you all know I kicked AS out of the house 21/2 weeks ago. Just couldnt take it anymore and he stole another $900.00 from my account. Went to cash a cheque and it bounced. Have no idea where he stayed the first week and a half. I paid for 3 nites at some motel for him. The counsellor called me this morning and said my son called him today " asking him for help". I am shocked is it because he is homeless? I dont know? Does he really want help don't know? He said he feels like he has no family anymore ( not true) and he is sick of living this life. Ive heard this before but he has never called anyone. All I can do is pray for him. There is a one year rehab program he is hoping to go to. Im sure there will be a waiting list, but keeping my fingers crossed.

I understand how you feel. and it's not a good feeling! Just know he is in God's hands and they are stronger than ours!

i think since he made the call, he may be ready, maybe not but at least he seems to know that he needs help. he's in my prayers and so are you

I hope he gets the help he needs. My as had a choice, either streets or rehab. He chose rehab. Hopefully, he'll stick with it this time. Take care of yourself.

Sometimes, recovery comes not in one BIG step, but in a series of smaller steps. His calling was a step.

Is it the "last" one? Or the "first"? Doesn't matter... it appears to be in the right direction.

In the meantime, if you haven't been attending Alanon or Naranon or CODA meetings, now might be a fine time for your "first step" toward recovery.
