My 2 sons

Hi all,
Just thought I'd give you a quick update.
Other than Mr. Moose being under the weather, life is wonderful.

In fact, (and I find this difficult to believe) oldest son, the 33 year old called me today, and said..."mom, I realize you and dad are getting a bit older, aren't you glad your sons sobered up in time to help you, and dad out?"

I thought, who the heck is this kid, that dialed the wrong number?
He sounds, all of the sudden, mature and sure of himself.
(keeping my fingers crossed still)
He did move out of sober house and in with a female friend of his, but found out she lied and that she uses, and he quickly left there, too.
He's now staying with a male friend who is sober.

Youngest son is back at his job as a rough finisher, and enjoying the hard work, and his GF.

Miracles happen in their own sweet time.

I'm just thanking my H.P. and all you guys who helped me get through the tough spots along the way.

Don't EVER give up hope.

Love you guys,

Moose you are making this codie mom smile from ear to ear. I just love hearing about your boys and it gives me such hope for any addict who suffers to know that those two could each find a better path.

You made my day.

Hugs to you and to Mr. Moose (hope he's feeling better).

Isn't it great that he has a sober friend? It is so true that we are a product of our environment. The more sober friends we have, the better life is for everyone.

Fantastic!

I've noticed the median age of maturity for the men in our family seems to be 35.

((((Moose)))) I'm so glad that you are sharing the hope and happiness! How wonderful to enjoy both your sons and each precious day.

I've noticed the median age of maturity for the men in our family seems to be 35.
Deedee's quote made me go track down my notebook. I remembered something about this from a weeklong family program I attended last year. One doctor spoke about "entitlement." He said that it is of course a natural part of adolescent development, but studies have shown that there is a certain percentage of people who do not outgrow that feeling until the age of 35 or 36, no matter what. This isn't just with addiction, but it can be an obstacle to recovery in some people.

I can't say if this is scientifically proven or anything, but I found it interesting...interesting enough to write it down
