You're Gonna Love This!
You're Gonna Love This!
I went to the house today to pick up some of my daughter's things. Yes, I took along half of the clothespins, but I didn't have time to dress them up. When I got there, there was a note on the door. It stated, "You went too far on taking stuff that doesn't belong to you. You can get the rest of your stuff out when I'm here. Set up a time and a date. This will not be a problem as long as you pick a week day. All the locks have been changed. Don't even think about breaking in or charges will be filed. I'll let you pick the degree of how you want this to go down. As of now....looks like you're gonna play nasty."
I have to remind anyone who doesn't already know.....this drastic measure was made over CLOTHESPINS!!!!
Have a great day, everyone!

Any chance that your name is on the deed or lease? There are no charges for breaking and entering your own home......
It's a beautiful day here, I am thinking of hanging some laundry up outside....if I could just find those darn clothespins....

Wow, wonder if he had those clothes pins insured. Perhaps they're family heirlooms, passed on from generation to generation. For crying out loud, what a drama king. If your name is on the lease or deed, you don't need his permission to collect your daughter's things. If he refuses to allow you to enter the building, you can always get a police escort. That may be the safest way to proceed both from a security and legal standpoint. It really shows how insane the alcoholism makes them, doesn't it?
Ever heard of something called projection?
I was able to protect myself better once I learned that things he was accusing me of were in fact things he was doing or planning to do himself.
Please be very careful. Don't be fooled. This is threatening and abusive behaviour.

Oh the drama! What ever happened to "Don't sweat the small stuff" - Doesn't seem to apply to the A, does it? Take care of yourself and I agree with others, don't go over there again, especially alone.
Grace, set up a date and time and then ask for police protection and show up with the police in tow to get your daughters things.
Also as said previously, if your name is on the lease or deed, it is not breaking and entering and in fact he broke the law by changing the locks.
Please be very careful, you are dealing with a time bomb and you don't know when it's set to go off.
Please be very very careful!
Love and hugs,

Thanks everyone....I will!
He has definitely gone off the deep end....short trip.
I need to start taking care of what's truly important today.
I have a whole lot of controlling people around me right now, and they're
trying to manipulate me just like he did. I'm going to get my butt in gear
and get this taken care of.
I just want him completely out of my life.

grace.....please do proceed with caution. always best to err on the side of safety than to take chances with an angry person.
someone on this forum made a point with me that hit home....i'll let them step forward and claim the statement if they should so desire.....but the statement was this.....sometimes alcoholism is the symptom of something else...such as underlying mental issues...and i'm paraprashing here....but it answered so many questions i had for so long.
good luck
