Thumbs up I didn't quit drinking to become miserable

72 days sober, pink cloud came and went and came and went, and I don't know who coined that phrase, but I have always been a gal who's glass is half full.
I think that's important to think positively.

New to AA and this site (about 6 weeks), and I am 47. Problems have become
situations. And I am handling life one day at a time. Spend no more than I make, so finances aren't a problem. I actually lost 18 pounds and eating the same food.

I drank because I could. I overdrank because I am an alcoholic. I quit because it was destroying my life. I am sober and loving it! Surrender to the Creative Force and gratitude is what is seeing me through. No cravings!

I came up with this one this morning with my partner, while we were lounging in bed on this rainy, floody day in the northeast (He's sober, too).

"Pink cloud at night, alcoholic's delight...Pink cloud in the morning, doubters
take warning"

Alcohol is a depressant. Enough said.

Yep, indeed.

What we say is, stopping is not the trick.

Staying stopped, ahh.... that is the trick.

And , with that comes all kinds of chemical

interactions, and emotions, up and down

the old scale. Another saying is ..........

Well, I choose to say a milder version of it...

Hang on for the ride of your life!!!!!!!!!!

Love,

Sherry

The glass is neither half empty of half full, simply twice as big as it shoud be

I'm not miserable either. FARRRR from it. As a matter of fact, I'm happier than I've ever been.

Hang on, it only gets better.

"Pink cloud at night, alcoholic's delight...Pink cloud in the morning, doubters

... right on sist'a sobriety...

was at a meets... was speak'n... about my on going PC(pink cloud)...

some lady in her 70's came up to me after the meets, she said sonny (i'm 54) been on that PC for over 28 years... WHAT!!! i said... the lady said... sonny, a grateful alk'y will never drink...

KH, many people places and things... (including x-sponser) have tried to knck me off that cloud... now dont get me wrong.. there have been many a day where that cloud has turned grey... and i felt like i was standing right on the edge of the cloud... at the end of the day.. i try to find the gratitude to put me back on it... even for one minute...

so i can honestly say... been on that cloud for over four years...

RX for the cloud... the attitude of gratitude, not attitude...

keep rock'n on your cloud... and forget that pink parachute... lol

all good wishes KH, and give only love...

xxoo, rz

Thank you everyone for your welcoming responses. I haven't been on the site
for almost a week because of the beautiful weather we got here in the northeast. It propelled me to clean up around the yard and take advantage of
the beautiful surroundings I live among. I'm on 78 days and feeling great!
There are some in the rooms that try to pull me down and push me around, and to them I speak privately and calmly. I am finally putting into action the principles of placing healthy bouindaries.

To thine own self be true!
Happy Spring!

Love, Kindheart

Hi KH:

Glad to see you are still doing well!

Healthy boundaries...that and gratitude are very good

tools in the ol' toolbox as an ongoing RX for...serenity.

Love,

Sherry
