Smile Tired of the Battle

Day one again and need to share about the difficulty being honest about my drinking...I'm going to a meeting at noon to share this....

Wink

CID,

All we can do is pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get back on the horse. It's better than the alternative. Yes, do let us know how the meeting was.

Smile Meeting was great!

I'm not good with sharing and it was a big meeting . I was short and tp the point and had some good feedback. I also had lunch with someone after the meeting. My drinking history at least for the last few months has been TOTAL isolation and the booze...Just me and the drink and it needs to END. I'm talking also about deep self-pity,loathing and loneliness. I simply do not want to live my life that way anymore. Thanks for the replys.

A meetings and sharing with an AA bud can really relieve the stress/trigger. I have several people I call everyday, whether I want to or not, whether I have anything to say or not. It really does help, and when I am really in trouble, I'll have several people that I can reach out to.

When I got tired of the battle, I gave up.

And guess what ? I no longer had to struggle ! Kind of like quicksand, the more you squirm the stucker you get.

Completely contrary to everything I though I knew.
