I had two tonic-Clonic seizures on Tuesday

Probably as a result of cutting down and stopping alcohol. I don't remember much at the time, only the sheer confusion and being terriefied when coming around in the hospital. I was at work at the time - I felt ok, then I was in an ambulance.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I won't reply until tomorrow as I'm off to bed.

Hi Richie,

That sounds dangerous and I'm glad you're ok.

I hope that you talk to your dr before you continue to cut down/stop drinking.

Richie, I'm glad you came through it OK. How frightening!

I'd advise an inpatient detox if you can manage that. At the very least, please see your doctor! I'm sure he/she can help you if an inpatient detox won't work for you.

Take care,
Jane

I agree with everyone else...have the doctor get you some care whil egetting sober..I know that for me...I had severe withdrawls and was lucky enough not to have seizures. It was a horrible few weeks (about 6) and I was exhausted and beat down tired in the end of it all.

hey richie, nice to meet you.

i saw someone experience this at an open aa meeting. it was scary. luckily, the man was at a meeting where folks knew what was happening and how to respond. agreed, seek medical attention. blessings, k

Nope, never did (Thank God).

I must have come real close though. I was hallucinating the last time(s) I went through withdraw. Amongst other "fun" things.....

I used to dream about having seizures, I wonder if I wasn't having little mini-seizures in my sleep.
