"I thank God for His generosity and goodness. I thank Him for my life and the beauty that's around me. (when I remember to take time out and look)
I thank him for watching over my addicted son, my sober daughter, and my hardworking hubby. Oh, and my cat that seems to be going to live forever. lol
I can only hope. I can't stand the thought of losing my baby."
This is a response that Bookmiser made in Katie's post and it really got to me. I spend a lot of time in prayer, asking God to look after my daughter, but I never think to thank Him for keeping her safe up to this point or all the other good things in my life. From now on I will also add a word of thanks for the the good things He does in my life too. Thanks Book, you made me think today

I did a lot of "asking" in my early recovery because I was so afraid.
As I got better, my fear lessened and I was able to be grateful.
I think this is a good sign, Marle. ((hugs))

I love it! Gratitude is one of the key things that keeps me focused on moving forward. I remember hearing sometime that you can not feel like a victim if you feel grateful and it is so true. Thanks Marle and thansk Bookmiser! Hugs

I begin each day with a prayer asking to be led and asking God to take care of my son.
Each evening I say another thanking God for seeing me through the day.
I may say others throughout the day, but those two are an important part of me staying spiritually connected.
