2 + years sober
I got sober on Feb 7, 2005. If I can quit you can too. It required brutal honesty with myself and others. It did not allow for 1/2 measures. The rewards of sobriety can be amazing. I go to AA. It saved my life. Are you ready?

I'm already on the bus. I have all of three days under my belt, am going to AA meetings regularly and have been to an assessment for outpatinet rehab which I hope will keep me on the bus.
Congrats on the 2+ years. Any advice??

Going to AA is a great start. It makes you accountable. I would encourage you to get a sponsor sooner rather than later. I read a lot about Alcoholism and recovery. If you are a reader there are many good books out there - "Drinking, A Love Story" by Caroline Knapp was my favorite. Go to meetings, be completely and brutally honest with yourself, don't look too far ahead - just don't drink today, and be around sober people. You can do this. Good luck.
i too have done two plus years sober. i attended three aa meetings but found it wasn't for me. i agree that you have to be totally brutal and honest with yourself and agree totally to stay close to people who are sober too. i learnt a lot from my father (sadly not here now) he was an alcoholic and did five plus years before he died. my children and close friends support me when i'm feeling weak. congrats to you for achieving so much
