Why does life hurt more when sober?

I know it sucks. I know how hard it is to deal with stress sober.
Drinking would do nothing but make it worse. It doesn't seem like it right now, but it would intensify and triple the pain.
At least you are sober and can work through the pain.
Even though it hurts, it means you are alive and have the ability to feel.
I'm here for you!!
You are not going through this alone.

I am sorry phazer. But if it hurts sober ..it is gonna hurt wasted too and even more after. I know easier said than done. But it's the truth. And especially at a time like that is not a time to drown in an addiction. It will only make it worse and possibly make you use more and more until who knows what.
You dont want that. You are too important. Always hold your head high. No matter how hard it may seem. Life hurts sometimes. It happens to the best of us. Thats just how it is. But dont add fuel to the fire. You will get through it. It may take time ..but all good things do. We are here for you.

I know that it hurts but it is still better than hurting and drinking. Alcohol only temp removes the pain it doesn't take it away.

I have 3 awesome daughters, and my oldest won't even talk to me. She has actually been in alot of trouble drinking while at school, and it kills me. Wonder where she got that from???
Well..nothing is going to change the past. But you can change the future. I dont know your situation. All you can really do is make it right the best you can. However that may be..I know it definately isn't by getting sh** face. Tomorrow is a new day my friend. What a time to start a new. It will stop hurting so bad in time. You just gotta be willing to wait it out. Thats how life is. Unfortunately. So keep leading by example and always be there. She will come around. I am sure it is hard on all of you.
40 beers sounds like alot but each one of us has our own using habits. For me it was a fifth of bourbon a night.
Chi was right about not being able to do anything about the past but being able to change the future. Time helps the healing and the pain does finally get less. Actually I'm not sure if it gets less or we get better at dealing with it.
