not sure where to start

Exclamation not sure where to start

trying very hard to stay sober... but i end up not being able to sleep without a few drinks. any advice?

well you have started, talking about it is always a good thing to do. Have you seen a Doc and talked to them honestly? Take a look at the various programs around and pick one, I found its im[possible to do this alone.

lcat... i hope i'm not hear'n you correct... is that the reason to keep drinking... sleep...?

any blackouts yet?

blackouts are like sleepwalking with actvity...

as kev mentioned... talk to a doc...

One of the little-known facts about drinking to fall asleep is that we don't enter into a deep restful state - we just think we do - but we are, in effect, passed out.
I drink 'Nighty Night' or 'Sleepytime' tea before bed, it makes a big difference. Or, you can purchase liquid melatonin at Wal-mart or any pharmacy it's inexpensive and is natural. To get you over the hump and sleeping without alcohol, one of these things might help. I used to take prescription sleeping pills (doh) but .. er .. I don't take pills very responsibly .. so it's the natural stuff for me today.
