5 Years Later I Am One Grateful Codie
It was 5 years ago that God led me to the doors of SR, and I wanted to share something special, to express my love and gratitude for all the people here who have shared their light with me through the years.
My story is no different than most of yours, I am the mother of an addict who had to let go or go down with him .You have walked with me through my fears and my tears, through laughter and silliness, through good days and dark nights, and held me up when I could walk no more. It is only with the courage and strength that your encouragement gave me, that I could find a good path of recovery and stay on it. I love each one of you and words cannot express the gratitude in my heart.
I don't want to make this a long post, so I will share the most important thing I learned and leave you with the lyrics to a song that has inspired me all the way through this journey.
The lesson I learned and want to share is to never give up on yourself and your life. Find joy in every day and reach for your dreams. There is a God, no matter what you choose to call Him, who watches over you and who wants you to be happy. Give Him your burdens, trust and have faith, then spread your wings and fly. Steve Winward says it so much better, so I dedicate this song to each one of you.

Ann,
You are a guiding light in this form Ann, a true inspiration. 5 years ago I would have never believed that I would be taken down this road, nor would I have believed that I would be pouring my heart out at the tips of my fingers and being consoled and support by such a wonderful lady.

I'm so glad that I was able to meet you, be inspired by you, know you. Strange how all the bad times almost seem worth it just to have a beautiful person like yourself touch upon my life for even a moment! Thank you for being you Ann!!!! And Happy Five-year-iversay!!!!!

I believe everyone "finds" this place, for their own set of reasons....but the comfort, support, advice, and genuine caring, given.... seems to be solution, for each of our problems!!! Universal....one size fits all!
You, Ann, are the best....your remarks, your compassion, your advice means so much....because we know you speak from experience and pain!
