My turn to wreck the car! (OT)

I crashed my car this morning with 3 year old son and my doberman in the car. Noone was hurt and my car (miraculously!) doesn't have a scratch on it (just had to clear a bunch of mud and grass out of my tailpipe)! I was moving over a little bit on a very slippery road to allow an oncoming car who was hugging the centerline a little bit of room because the ditches on this road are really deep (4-6ft!) and the one on THEIR side of the road was filled with rushing water. So I moved over a bit and hit an icey patch. The car started to swerve so I took my foot off the gas and tried to get it under control. After about 3 or 4 swerves the steering wheel became pointless and I knew I was going to spin out into the ditch. I was praying it would land safely and NOT upside down in water!! I told my son to hang on (he was playing a video game and thought all the swerving was fun!) and told the dog to lay down. She did and we went BACKWARDS into the DRY ditch and ended up with son and I reclined and looking up at the sky. My front tires were off the ground and the backend was down in the ditch. But we were ok and my car was fine!! Was the luckiest way we could've ended up. Had we gone sideways the car could've rolled over. Had we gone in the OTHER ditch we would've been in 4ft deep icey rushing water possible upside down (my worst nightmare)! So I feel lucky that all ended well. $50 to tow me out and we were on our way. WHEW! the idiots I was trying to make room for slowed down and watched but then drove off. Never even stopped to see if we were ok. That's what I get for trying to be courteous. But God was watching out for us!!!!

My 3YO is having fun telling everybody that "mommy spun around and around and we fell in the ditch". He makes it sound like we were dancing and got dizzy and fell! (and we didn't even spin all the way around!) Certainly doesn't sound as scarey coming out of his sweet little mouth (but then again this is the boy who told me last night that his "nose wasn't working" because it was stuffed up!) Gotta love kids

Thanks everybody. Yes my son is a doll (they both are). I get such a kick out of what comes out of his mouth sometimes. Both of my boys have the best sense of humor. Keeps me laughing.
