Welcome to SR! Like you, I am nearing my 60 day mark (after 25 years of being drunk) so I doubt I can give you much personal insight on what to expect.
However, this place is full of love, wisdom, and experience and I'm sure that many others will be happy to share their stories with you and try to address your concerns.
Hope you'll share your recovery with us!
Earl
Hi Astrogal,
Congratulations on 57 days sober!
For me, I had to make a lot of changes in my life. I got rid of toxic people in my life, including some friends and family members. It was time. I had to take a hard look at myself and see that I was not the person I had believed I was. I also got back to things that I loved like music, hiking and reading. I had lost a lot to alcohol. Learning how to deal with normal emotions, without numbing them was also necessary and it actually felt really good.
There is lots of support here, so keep posting.

Welcome,
You have made a great choice. I wish I admitted it at 21.... the grief agony and despair I would have saved... not to mention the money
New friends will come in time, I find that people I never used to have time for because they didn't drink are actully just as much fun to be with....
Have a great day!

Welcome Astro....I am so glad you are here!! Congratulations on you 57 days!!!! What a huge accomplishment, I am so proud! Uncle Earl is right, you can expect to feel so much better in all respects. At 21, I am kinda leary to talk about emotions, good grief, I barely made it out of my teens unscathed!!! You will be fine, if something starts getting you down, come here and talk about it, there is always someone with a similar story to help...no matter how strange you think your story is!!!
