Question about drinking "good stuff".....

I ALWAYS have to be drinking something. I get up, drink over a pot of coffee, then 2 32oz gatorades, then a couple big mugs of V-8, a few glasses of tea, then water on my headboard all night.
It's like I HAVE to have liquid at all times. Were you guys like this too? If so, did it mellow out after a while? I feel like a liquid hoggo!

How long since you quit ? You're probably de-hydrated. I was that way as soon as I could hold anything down.

It's not uncommon for someone only 7 days sober to be dehydrated. Withdrawal from alcohol can cause that. You might also try eating some sweets, specifically chocolate. For some alcoholics this reduces cravings for lots of different things. Ice cream is my favorite.

Hi tj . That sounds like a lot of caffeine (pot of coffee) and sodium (V-8) to me. Personally, I would cut way back on both of those. What's wrong with plain old H2O ? That's what you're body really wants if you're thisty.

Hi gypsy tears!!
Well I figured I would "treat" myself to something that I like while I get used to the void of beer, ya know? I do drink tons of water too. probably over 2 liters a day. I tell ya, I'm a liquid hoggo! LOL!

Question though, (now I'm paranoid lol) what does too much salt do?

Actually, you need electrolytes. Have you had any leg or foot cramps ? I did for the first 2 weeks until my fluid/electrolyte balance was somewhat normal.

Hi gypsy tears!!
My mom is going to drop off her blood pressure thingy on her way to work. I'll check it here in a few. She said that since I'm actually still in withdrawal (weather I know it or not) that it's bound to be erratic readings right now. But she said we will monitor it for while. Thank you for bring this to my attention!!
She's an RN, which is nice!! LOL

Hi TJ . How's it going today? Good I hope. Your Mother being a nurse will probably be of great reassurance during this early period.

They do have lower sodium V-8. You might switch to it if you really love that stuff. Good for getting an appointment with your doctor... that's probably the best even w/ your Mom being a nurse. I don't know anything about BP or the #'s except when I had my check up mine were OK .
