The hardest thing I ever had to do: tell my son his father is dead

It was SO much harder than I thought it would be. *sniff*

I got The Call just before I left work. Ex died about 4:30 pm.

No arrangements have been made yet, but I imagine that the funeral will be next week.

On top of that, he got suspended from school for tomorrow for talking back to a teacher today. *sigh*...(does it ever end...?) So I will be home with him tomorrow, which is probably a good thing, at least from my standpoint.

Please keep son in your thoughts these next few days...he's having a tough time...though he insisted he wanted to go to a Meeting tonight, so I took him.

I just went back and read your first post...it seems you were very prepared for this...and I think in a way, your son was prepared to. He just has to find a way to deal with all of the anger ... and he is justified in having so much of it right now. Did he ever get to tell his dad what he thought before he passed away?

Thinking of you and son.....

(Note to Embraced2000: Son's dad was my EX husband.)

Thank you all so much for your kind words...I'm going to try to keep son busy with relatively mindless stuff today...I will try to post more later on once arrangements have been made.
