Question TOPIC: How Small We Are.....NICKELBACK Lyrics..

.....And we lie beneath the stars
we realize how small we are.....
NICKELBACK

Good morning SR...

My name is Sharon and Im an
Alcoholic.

By the Grace of my HP and people
like u here in SR i havent had a
drink of alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that and u Im truely grateful.

I love music....Do you?

The lyrics and words from
many songs have meaning....
as they should.

When i hear a song I often use
the lyrics to my advantage in
recovery....just as i wrote
here from the group NICKELBACK.

When I think of the millions of
stars up there in the skies I
realize im very small down here
on earth...

Im just one little speck in this
world...meaning I not all that
important....meaning in order
not to get to full of myself I
have to realize im just one
piece of the puzzle .....
of a much larger picture.

It takes all of us to come
together in recovery helping
each other guiding each other
each day completeing a bigger
picture of recovery.....

Are you a small piece of the puzzle?

A small part of the picture?

One beneath the millions of
stars above us.....

Thank you Sharon. Lyrics are powerful for me as well.

I have found that I can use any love song about broken hearts, life pain, deep hurt, betrayal, abandonment, etc, replace the lover in the song with alcohol, and it fits.

Im doing well so far here in Baton Rouge....

The moving back and getting settled here
has been a breeze.... I knew i would feel
back at home emmediately because this
is where my heart is....

I am a little uneasy about my job tho....

Banking requires learning new stuff I
havent delt with for a long time....people
keep telling me that it will come to me
eventually.... If this is what im suppose
to be doing, i hope it come quickly...

However my heart and interest is in
wanting to help others in recovery
or rehab....I have applied for a Mental
Health Technicians position at a hospital
and just went yesterday to see the HR
lady....We have been communicating
via emails and phone.

She is aware of my interest and ...well i
have done the footwork and the rest....well
its in my HP's hands.....

The hospital job wasnt available at the time
for me to move back home so i took the
bank teller position....i dont want to stay
too long at the bank if they accept me at
the hospital soon.

If the bank is where i need to be...then I
will accept it and do my job to the best
of my ability with help and guidance from
above.

Music....LOVE IT....It moves me....it inspires
me....it lifts my soul up with joy....

IT ROCKS..!

Thanks guys for ur wonderful thoughts.

Much appreciated. : )

I love Nickleback

I always know the lyrics to songs before I know the artist and name of the song. I can sing every word however don't ask me who sings it. lol.. Thanks for sharing.

Alot of my inspiration comes from songs. as of late i have been playing this over and over again.

Althea by The Grateful Dead

I told Althea I was feeling lost
Lacking in some direction
Althea told me upon scrutiny
my back might need protection
I told Althea that treachery
was tearin me limb from limb
Althea told me: now cool down boy -
settle back easy Jim

You may be Saturday's child all grown
moving with a pinch of grace
You may be a clown in the burying ground
or just another pretty face
You may be the fate of Ophelia
sleeping and perchance to dream -
honest to the point of recklessness
self centered to the extreme

Ain't nobody messin with you but you
your friends are getting most concerned -
loose with the truth
maybe it's your fire
but baby...don't get burned
When the smoke has cleared, she said,
that's what she said to me:
You're gonna want a bed to lay your head
and a little sympathy

There are things you can replace
and others you cannot
The time has come to weigh those things
this space is getting hot -
you know this space is getting hot

I told Althea
I'm a roving sign -
that I was born to be a bachelor -
Althea told me: Ok that's fine -
So now I'm out trying to catch her

Can't talk to me without talking to you
We're guilty of the same old thing
Talking a lot about less and less
And forgetting the love we bring
