15 and counting
Haven't had to time to read or post this week as work has been very busy. My ship sails on Friday for three weeks (forced sobriety at sea, thankfully) and I've been working very long days to catch up/ get ready.
Though each day ends with the strong urge to have a beer or ten, I've managed to distract myself with errands, work, dinner, laundry - whatever I can come up with. This past weekend wasn't easy, but I think I got a blessing in disguise by catching a little bit of a bug of some sort. Believe me, I didn't want to put ANYTHING in my belly on Saturday, alcohol or otherwise! (all better now).
As the header states, I'm on day 15. Once I make it 'til Friday and out to sea, I'll be on the "easy route" to Feb 3 - which will be day 40. (how biblical... 40 days and 40 nights dry in the 'desert'?) I'm already worried about that day... because that's a sailors traditional day-o-drinking.
Anyway, just wanted to post a quick update on where I'm at... hangin' tough, getting easier to deal, but still on the edge it seems. Thanks to those of you who've offered your support over the past two weeks... I'm pulling for you a well, even though I won't be posting for the rest of the month. Look for me on Saturday, Feb 3 though! I'm sure I'll be back on here to see how all are doing.
