not sure if i ever mentioned this. in sobriety several months back i went on a spiritual retreat with the lakoda tribe near louisville kentucky. it was very intense, we went in a sweat lodge (thats a whole other story). anyways part of the deal was we had to a do something called Fire Watch. groups of two's take turns maintaining a huge fire next to the sweat lodge. my friend and I had the midnight to 2am shift. its far away from the city lights so you can see all the stars. looking up i realized that all the stars were suns and galaxys and thats only 10% of the mass thats out there. the big book refers to as Spirit of the Universe, Higher Power, and/or God.
we humans are insignifcant beings and something exists much more powerful than us. at that moment, I came believe that a power greater than myself created that mass and could restore me to sanity.
God exists. keep coming back if you dont believe it...and you will too.

I've always had a deep admiration for the Native Americans...how wonderful that you were given the opportunity to share in their culture. Thanks for sharing that with us.
