New here, but not to the bottle

Dad, and Grand Dad were both alcoholics, and so are my two sons. I've been fighting it for years. I went thru a 30 day program 9 years ago, but it didn't stick. perhaps I just haven't "bottomed out" enough. I can't seem to put more that two days together. Yes - I go to meetings, but generally buy a pint on my way home. Now it's got to the point that I fall, and hurt myself frequently. I'm very glad to have found this place.

Hi RDW,

Alcoholism is a progressive disease. I hope you keep posting and reading and I'm glad you found us.

Welcome aboard, RDW! Falling down and getting hurt isn't good. I've done that too many times. Fractured my upper arm & almost cracked my noggin open the last time.

Welcome RDW!!

We are really glad you found us too!

Pull up a chair and read some posts and check back from time to time. SR has really helped me stay sober this year. It can help you too.

Keep trying man, just don't give up. You don't have to bottom out to make it stick once and for all.

I'm praying for ya.
