Does time scare you
I just watched a movie "Click" and it reminded how precious time is. Sometimes I just want to freeze time, it just goes by too fast and it freaks me out a little.
Life is precious, thank god I am sober today so I don't have to waste it.
Everybody give a big hug to those you love.

I watched that movie earlier this week. Man what an eye opener! I regret the time that I lost in my disease and know that there is no way I can ever get that back or undo the things I did BUT I have today and I can make the most of that.
Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. That is why today is called a present!

what is click? sounds interesting. yeah in recovery ive had several moments in which i stated 'i wish time would just stand still.' i also had those times in the glory days of my using (you know, those times i spent years unsucessfully chasing) but the difference is dramatic. i CAN NEVER get back those glory days of using, when i was in highschool or college and had no responsibility whatsoever. i can continue on with my sober moments in which i wish time would stand still though. so my best option is to follow the realistic one.

Kelly, did you bawl? It is a hillarious and very sad movie at the same time. Adam Sandler stars in it and he is a man with little patience who gets his hands on a remote control that can fast forward time or whathever else he wants.

I havent seen the movie yet.
However my thoughts on time
are....No i can't turn back the
time except in my mind....and
i do that quite often....I go back
in time of my childhood....even tho
there r dark moments, the goods
one come shining thru.
I know today i have to live in today.
Like Kelley said yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery. All we have is
now.
If i could go back in yesterday with the
knowledge and wisdom i have today then
i would....
However i can and so to me content,
satisfied with what i have today is
important....And am i that? NO..!
Why, because i can't have what i want
NOW. Then i have to go a little further
in thought and ask myself...what's more
important......is it my WANTS or NEEDS?
Do i WANT to be happy, joyous and free
in recovery? Sure i do...then its ACCEPTANCE
that comes into play.
ACCEPTING PEOPLE PLACES AND THINGS
just as they r suppose to be.
I SO WANT this and SO NEED this....
TIME WAITS FOR NO MAN.

Good morning, All.
Another HS football playoff game last night. We are undefeated and ranked 1st in the state. If we win next week we go to the semi-finals at the Georgia Dome then state championships. That's the excitement in our small town... Usually I have a couple drinks before we go, then drink a bottle of wine or so when we get home. I enjoyed the game and the surroundings so much more last night!
We haven't seen Click yet, but the kids really want to watch it. They are 11 and 12. ( a pretty mature 12) What do the mommy reviewers say?
Christmas decorations today- in Calif we didn't even think about that for 3 more wks- but not here... Last night lights were up, trees were up...
Anyone shop yesterday and live to tell about it??

Your're right, time does go by so fast sometimes that we forget to notice the good things because we're in a rush to the next thing. It's so calm and happy in my house today and I even took a picture of the kids and hubby sitting around a table playing a game. I don't ever want to forget these peaceful moments.

Excellent thoughts from all. C'est la vie, glad you had that kind of day. Those are precious boy! It is amazing the time you have to reflect on what's important in life instead of being consumed with booze. What a relief!!

joanne...i just got done watching click...it may be my new favorite movie...it's almost better than it's a wonderful life...it does remind me of my addiction...take some pills to get through on 'autopilot'...never really appreciating life and all of the moments that are important...

Ayla,
I know, an amazing movie and your right so many times we just went through the motions. I will remember that movie when it is the end of the day and I am dragging my ass and looking forward to the kids going to bed. I will try and hug them instead and appreciate every moment. My favourite movie is It's a Wonderful Life as well.
