Hello, I'm new..mother to a 15-yr old alcoholic

I'm so overwhelmed.

I've clung to my principles in dealing with my alcoholic son because those are the only guideposts I have in this unfamiliar parenting territory that I am in.

I am not an alcoholic myself, but I'm hoping that others here can offer some good guidance and insights for my son and myself. My son's biodad, however, is a practicing alcoholic (and has been for 25 years.) He only sees his dad every other weekend (four days per month.)

Any guidance at all will be extremely helpful. Thank you.

Al-Anon can be a tremendous help to people in situations such as yours. The link I've posted can help you find a meeting near you. If you go, you'll find others there who have found ways to cope with the disease of alcoholism, and you just may find some answers for yourself...
