Question TOPIC: Who Has More Sober Time This Morning Than I Do? I've Been Up Since 6am.

Good morning Sober Recovery Family.

My name is Sharon and Im an Alcoholic.

By the grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR i havent found
it necessary to pick up a drink of
alcoholic, today. And for that and
you im truely grateful.

Ok, so i got up at 6am this morning.

There are folks out there that may
have gotten up earlier than i...

I remember sitting in meetings and
listen to folks share and every once
in awhile someone would say that got
up at a certain time that morning.

Then other folks would join in and say,
"Well i got up at this time, so i guess
i have been sober longer than you today."

Id smile...and think how cool is that
that folks even with yrs of sobriety
still have fun with their recovery
by joking delightfully with their
sober time....

So here's the question offered to you....

I got up at 6am this morning. Who of
you has gotten up earlier than I and
has more sober time than i today?

Can you beat my time this morning?

Have fun...

Thanks for letting me share.

Thats wonderful Steve..Glad u r here TODAY sober.

I was just getting ready for the day reflecting
back on what i wrote in my thread....and then
i thought...hmmmmm Well there are many here
that are not as ridgid as i in all that i do....
I am one of those that goes to bed early
and gets up early....I think i have a built in
alarm clock in my body....So when my body
begins to ache in the morning then it's time
to get up..... It just happens that way....

Anytime you got up sober or clean today is
AWESOME.

Whether u r a sleep in kinda person...or
u maybe under the weather today...who
knows u may have had the graveyard
shift last night and didnt get home
till wee hours....

Yesterday my cats work me up at 4:15 AM
YIKES..! A normal week day i get up at 5am
to be ready for work at 8am...

Im one of those set in my ways and so
it is natural for me to get up early in the
mornings.

But just for fun ......What time did u awake
sober or clean this morning?

Hello all,
I had 7 beers yesterday evening. I am so disappointed in myself. I cannot start again until I admit this and own my actions. Thanks for the opportunity to share this & begin again. Julie

It does take time for you body to go thru
some changes....what we use to do for so
long.....it will take some time if u r willing
to go to any lengths to stay clean and sober.....

If your say there's no way...I can't do
this....it's impossible...its too late....

Never say never....and its not to late to
begin again.

You will noticed that once u have had a
taste of soberiety...then going back out
is not the same.....it will never be like it
once was.....

There is life after drugs and alcohol....
If so many people can stay clean and
sober and have been doing this for a
long time now...then it must work....

For me there were many times vowing
to never pick up a drink again....then
WHAM..! Ive drunken myself into
oblivion.... I did hit my bottem and
it was thru family intervention that
brought me into the rooms of Acoholics
Anonymous. My family did for me what
i couldnt do for myself.

For that and them today, im very grateful.

You dont have to go thru recovery by urself....
and if u dont understand something then there
r many in here and in those rooms of recovery
that r willing to show u the way...with love ,
care, support and understanding...just as they
did for me and still do in here.

Getting rid of ALL the alcohol in ur home is a
good place to start...and notice i didnt TELL
you want to do...but my suggestions only...
that is what was suggested to me from the
very beginning....

If it is not in ur home then u wont drink it....
then here comes CHANGE...I had to change
people place and things that had anything
to do with alcohol and replace it with
something recovery....

All those so call friends that i use to
drink with r no longer there for me....
now i have u guys and the AA family
from back home in Louisisna....

Suggestions of 90 meetings in 90 days....
why do u think they suggest that to
newcomers? Its because we need many
meetings in the begiining of our recovery
program....if u go to a meeting..u may
not at first understand things, but u
will hear stories of people just like u
sharing their own experiences, strengths
and hopes with us in order to helps us
stay clean and sober.

I listened ALOT and I absorbed alot of
what i heard....find u someone at a
meeting that u can talk with easily...
someone u can relate to so they can
be available to u if u have that urge
to want to drink....

Wouldnt u rather call someone first in
AA or NA before u pick up a drink or
drug and regret what u did later?

I would....

you know guys...I don't know any of you
personally and yet u came here to share
a little something and now i feel like ive
known all of u all my life.

In just a moment of sharing....i made
several more new recovery friends right here.

Pretty cool huh? : )

KEEP COMING BACK...BECAUSE I NEED YOU. : )
