I need to be here

I'm new here. I know if I dont quit drinking It will eventually kill me...I almost feel like I have to go to the doctor and have him tell me that I have liver damage or something bad to get that push to stop! I've been drinking almost everyday for 10 years now and I'm sick of it...sick of not functioning right...sick of being sick!

Well, you are in the right place; here, we are all sick of being sick. You have found a great place to start. Welcome!!

I am an alcoholic and have been binge and blackout drinking for 15 years. I have been sober for 3 1/2 months now. It is FABULOUS. I took me a while to really start feeling better, but it did happen.

I have a combination of God, prayer, church, AA and SR in place to help keep me living a sober life. It has been easier than I ever thought it could be.

Keep coming, keep reading, keep posting and try for today to not have a drink.

Yes...I think seeing a doctor is wise
to help you de tox.
abd
you just may have liver or brain danage.

For understanding alcoholism...I recommend...

"Under The influence"
and it's sequel
"Beyond The Influence"

they are carried by Amazon

The information in
Umder' convinced me to quit.

I hope you will find a way to save your life.
Take care..

Hello and Welcome,

I got sober in AA, never thought I could stop drinking and I too was sick of feeling awful. Life is so much better sober, it just takes putting down the drink to find out, I know its hard and scarey but its so worth it.

Love, Rose

Well done on making your decision to not drink and for wanting a better life. It isn't easy but we can and do recover. Keep reaching out. That is so important to reach out and get support. You can do this and you don't have to go it alone.

Glad that you are here!
