i think i'm finally out of denial

i'm a very social and outgoing person. i love parties, events ect.. my boyfriend whom i live with is one year sober. i on the other hand got tottaly wasted on saturday, even after talking to my sister who's newly joined this site. why do i forget why i quit drinking, seems to be once a month or so, almost like a panick attack first. my personality says party party party, do i not attend these functions, i have a 16month old baby who spent the whole day and night with daddy downstairs as i stayed upstairs and got drunk. then i'm usually sick for 5 days, heart palpitations, depression ect.. how do i make sure this doesn't happen again, i come from a long line of alcoholics, most of my friends say i'm not but saturday i was driving with a drink in the car, no idea where i went. how do i never, ever drink again help me

WELCOME TO SR

I'm a recovering meth addict so I don't really know much about alcohol.
I do know that recovery takes strength and will power - but we can do it!

There is lots of support on this site - you'll meet lots of people who experience similar things to you so I think you've come to the right place!

i'm glad to hear you're a recovering

my childhood friend site in a bed, with no motion, slurred speach, lost her 4 kids, all from meth, she had a double stem stroke, going on 2 years ago, you always think 'wouldn't happen to me' happen to her, wish you well and keep up the good work

Welcome to the board sister. I guess alcoholism does run in families. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you a happy sober life. I know you can do this and I hope you find peace. It will take alot of hard work. The people on this site are great and very supportive. You will get all kinds of support and advice.
