My husband drinks in spurts, and in large amounts, dabbles in drugs , and recently got my 17 yr. old son drunk plus 3 of my sons friends. I am afraid my husband is looking for a drinking partner instead of raising a son. Not sure what to do , they both lied to me and snuck this behind my back. and then my husband warned my not to talk about this to anyone at anytime or else. I want to scream throw something and cry for about one week. I am so frustrated and scared of what this has turned out son into.:uzi2:

wow -that does sound like a tough situation.... and I being pretty new here myself... don't know where to advise you to go for help.

You may find more similar experiences on the Family and Friends of Alcoholics forum in SR. That is just a rotten situation. You'd think a caring parent wouldn't do that to his own kid. I'm glad you are reaching out for help and advice.

Have you ever gone to Alanon, or suggested Alateen for your son?

Thanks for the advice on where to go, and as for your question about alanon and alateen I would love to take my son, but my husband has embedded in his head that manly men drink and do what they want, they don't need a woman to tell them what to do with their lives. My husband can be such a pig and it is wearing off onto my son. What is a wife and mother to do?

I was my dad's drinking buddy too and I wish my mom would have stepped in and saved me from that.......good luck and you are in my prayers....
