No longer just a lurker...
Hi all--after lurking for many moons, I jumped into the revived thread regarding alternatives to Al-Anon. Desert Eyes asked me to introduce myself so that I would not get lost in the thread.... I am a grateful member of Al-Anon. I started in the program almost 1 1/2 years ago. The program has saved my sanity and allowed me to discover serenity, possibly for the first time in my adult life. My A is my AH. He has almost 1 1/2 years of soberity. We separated about 10 months ago when we realized it was just too hard to work on our individual recoveries and the wreckage that alcoholism had left behind in our relationship at the same time. I have really appreciated the ES&H shared on this board--it has helped me keep the focus on myself and not the A, and to keep moving forward in recovery. Thank you for being here.
