Stop anxiety help

I’m not drinking anymore, but my anxiety gets to me still. Right now it’s 3 am and I feel so anxious, I can’t shake it. I don’t want to txt anyone and Wake them up. So here I am. What do you all do to stop the anxiety?

I don't sleep very well and am frequently awake in the early hours. I find if I just lay there, my mind starts to race with anxiety so what tends to work for me is I either read a book concentrating really hard on the words so my brain can't think of anything else or I play music really loud on my headphones which again, tends to block out unwelcome thoughts.
If I think there's a chance I might fall asleep again deep breathing helps, make it noisy so you can hear it and concentrate on it.
Don't put yourself under pressure to go back to sleep, as that only makes the anxiety worse.

Prayer, meditation, reading, lavender oil, no caffeine in the afternoon, exercise. I try to avoid anything that gets my thoughts racing like a violent movie, loud distractions, or visually stimulating hobbies like video games. I had to have some help in early sobriety with my anxiety, wellness visits and a prescribed anti-depressant. Lots of AA meetings too. No single thing made a difference, it was a combination of many things.

When I am experiencing trouble with sleep and anxiety I get up out of bed and do something until the feelings pass. If the thoughts are troubling I acknowledge that I'm having bad feelings but will not focus on them for the time being but later (if I need to do that). I will frequently read SR and post on topics or share that I'm having racing thoughts. When I'm tired I will then lie down and try to sleep again, usually with success. Sometimes I'm up more than once at night but not always with anxiety, and yet the process works again. It also takes time for anxious feelings from quitting to subside.

Exercise and Meditation are the two things that help my anxiety the most. If you have a Smartphone - there are a lot of meditation apps (Headspace is one that has a free trial and 10 meditations).
