Panic attacks

I woke up with another panic attack. I'm 4 months sober. I spent all night with racing thoughts. The panic attacks always feel like I'm dying. I get cold, my heart starts beating really fast, I felt like I was gonna pass out. do any of you have these? It's almost like what's the point in being sober if I feel like I'm gonna die

I had panic attacks and depressive episodes for my first 5 months sober. What helped me is to spend as much time around as many people as possible at meetings and fellowshipping, or attending church services and family gatherings. It gave me peace and a feeling of calm comfort, rather than the panic and shaking I would experience when I isolated.

Having underlying anxiety disorders are common for those with alcoholism (i'm one of them) once the booze stops, the symptoms do go down quite a bit, but don't go away. I would start seeing a therapist is you aren't already and they can get you the proper treatment and possibly medications to make things much more manageable.
