house almost burned the **** down last night .. hot water heater caught on fire ,, it is electric so ,,
, throwing water on it was ruled out .. and .. so I just beat the flames out with paper towels and then shut the
breaker off ...

.. yeah .. I messed with it .. when it stopped working and tripped the breaker ..

,.. I kicked it a few times .. dislodge any sediment arcing across the heating elements and fired it back on up ..

.. then it was wet .. shooting some lightning bolt like arcs out of the top element ..

.. then I let it dry a bit ..

.. then .. conditions for the electrical fire were met .. and exceeded maybe ..

.. you know a hot water heater cost bout $450 .. then the fittings and such ..

.. a plumbing company said $1159 ..

.. mmmm hmmmmm ...

.. meh ..

.. I will change it out tomorrow .. hot water ? not so much at the moment ..

.. but the house is intact and smoke alarm batteries are new ..

.. Oh yes .. could of been bad ..

New water heater installed ,, cost $429 or so ,, heater and fittings ..

,, no labor charge, on this one .. well off the rent .. $600 .. I get my parts cost and my Dad gets the balance .. from my cousin the land lord .. she is nice and allows me to pretty much do whatever I want with the house.

,, can't beat that deal .. I could raise it a bit .. nah, just so I get the parts cost .. be ok.

.. and now, I can shave again ..

I haven't installed a heater since the large price increase this year, but prior to that I still hadn't charged over $575 at the most for labor and materials on any heater up to 50 gallons. Plumbing companies are making some serious $$ on heater installations.
