Oh Winslow, I was so close yesterday I could have easily been making an identical post to your own.

It's the nature of the beast Winslow with only one remedy, so get back on that miserable nag and don't spare the whip.

With a few days abstinance up your sleeve things will start to fall into place again and you'll find direction and some peace, and that will definitely feel good.

When active it is overwhelming, it's a mongrel of a drug, but when abstinent things become manageable and that's what we're seeking.

You'll put it down Winslow and on your way give a few dud haircuts to the tweakers.

Thinking of you Winslow and I'm keeping the faith.

You can do it Winslow. Dry your eyes, it's a new day.

Winslow, I'm so sorry you're drinking hun. Instead of asking yourself "why", ask "what do I need to do to quit once and for all?"
1st and foremost, plz quit drinking.
2nd, you need a recovery plan. Have we ever discussed this, because I don't remember if you've had 1 in the past? There's a link that Dee posted in the newcomers forum regarding recovery plans.
3rd, tbd later.

I didn't have a clue about recovery in the same sense that a lot of people here did, when I joined SR.....never heard the term addict voice, much less what it stood for, didn't know what recovery tools and plans were, how invaluable support systems we're or what the 12 steps were.

My idea of a recovery plan was my goal. In the very beginning, my only goal was to quit drugs.
Most of my early goals were short term and a lot of them didn't reveal themselves to me until many mo's later.
Like when I was gaining weight...I didn't worry about it at all at the time because I was concentrating on healing 1st and I knew I'd work on that later.
Then, when I starting working on my weight, I added exercise to my goal.
Now, I have over 20 goals, both short and long term. But, I only started out w/1 goal.

We care about you and we're here for you anytime you need us hun.
Sobering (( hugs )) & love.

Hey Winslow go check out "Be my Baby" - The Ronettes, 1963. That'll get you back in the girl band.

Steely, you did a great job keeping your AV at bay hun! I'm very proud of you!

That's funny about the fellow on the train! Yep, nothing in life is free because even if you don't buy the cow, you still pay for the cow lol.

Great score at the opposite shop! My latest score was a 1950's, Navajo, sterling and turquoise necklace. I paid $90, but it's worth about 5x's that much.

Just curious, why do they call it the "highway to hell?"

Hi winslow - my suggestions

stop drinking and pour out whatever's left.
Drink some water, maybe eat a little something.

go lie down or snooze on the couch or whatever until it's time for bed.

Tomorrow is a new day

Or you finish up getting eaten by the cow kzaug.

Can't seem to sign up to your video blacky that black box won't do a thing. Maybe it's just me.

I only use WIRES. My possum was not so lucky it fell out of a tree.

You are a classical guitarist blacky.

Just checked on that book kzaug and shipping time from America could be up to the 14th May. That's insane . Employ a few people.

Hope you are starting to feel better Winslow. Hope everybody is well.

We got to try and find strength where we can .. I so wish the best towards you all ..

I also know we are human and with that goes .. good intentions out the window .. all manner of other analogies for our decisions and lives and such ending up in a heap next to the dumpster .. trying to not find a bridge to practice diving off ..

We can be OK, .. We can break it down and take things as they come instead of some sort:
WALL YOU WILL NEVER PASS ..

I am of the hard headed sort ,, so that led to ,,, um .. you know .. but the same can go the other way .. see .. " I have never seen a more dedicated individual when tasked with a mission that has A to Z firmly understood and has all of his troops on the same page"

Well I heard the classical behind it all class chemical or not.

I wish the best for everyone here too blacky. Want everyone to succeed.

You are right about working with what we've got and to take things as they come .......I don't want to live a life with a looming wall that cannot be mounted. I want to live and flow as you say in the day.

Being sober gives that opportunity. Thank goodness, otherwise I'll choose the dumpster. At least it's not a slum landlord.

Don't know how it will all turn out but so long as I work on my day the best I can with the tools I've got I'm happy. And my tools have been stolen many times.

There is nothing like singleness of purpose. Awesome.

Thanks for the reminder

Still couldn't open your stuff or sign in, I dunno?

Hope I'm on the right page.
