Days sober.....

Stopped binge drinking few days ago...

Every weekend and occasionally during the week would do about 9-12 drinks in a four hour period.....

Now the sobriety begins.....

Day 3...... Im just now able to collect my thoughts, get decent sleep, and not constantly freaked out due to severe anxiety....

Anxiety subsided a bit, but every now and then would creep in, but its becoming increasingly manageable.

Im on high blood pressure meds, but during the drinking, my bp was still thru the roof! Having high blood pressure feels terrible and is exacerbated by the alcohol withdrawal anxiety. Sobriety has brought it, and my anxiety way down.....

So far so good. I can still feel I have a ways to go.

Have you got any kind of a plan Introvrtd1? :)

Congrats on 3 days, Introvrtd1! You're off to a great start. So what's your plan?

Introvrtd1 12-17-2015 02:19 AM

Im on an exercise plan.....Ive really been hitting the cardio like walking and biking.....Cut my calories too. I need to lose lots of weight.

Believe me Im sick and tired of being sick and tired.

All those things are good things and important elements of recovery - but I think a recovery plan really needs to target not drinking tho?

Give this link a looksee, Introvrtd?

Day 5.....Lots of things to do today.....Gotta drive across town for an important errand.....I hate driving because it is a big anxiety trigger for me, and I need to go over a huge bridge which would normally make me avoid going altogether....

But hey again....day 5 and I feel like I can do anything without fear!

Wish me luck today!

Thanks!

You're doing great, Introvrtd1!
We have the Mackinac bridge here in Michigan & I've never gotten up the nerve to drive across it lol. I did walk it one Labor Day though. Heights scare the crap outta me yikes lol!
Wishing you luck & sending positive vibes your way!
(( Hugs ))

Driving through that fear. Good stuff, Introvrtd1. You're doing really well. :) It's going to keep getting easier.

That's great Intro! :)
You know, I became agoraphobic in the last yr./yr.& 1/2 of my active addiction. But, last spring, I began to force myself to go out & by the time summer came, I was going everywhere! The freedom I felt was awesome!
I think it's really important to have a support system to count on ( other than family & friends. ) I used SR as mine & I can't tell you how rewarding it's been! I feel truly blessed! :)
Keep posting! (( Hugs ))

Day 7! Still healing, getting better, and becoming more optimistic!

Its weird though...Ive had this funny taste in my mouth for a couple days now.....Like my toungue has some aftertaste....

Ive been drinking lots of water and cut my eating habits by over half....

What is that taste though? Is that a manifestation of some detox Im experiencing?

patricia68 12-20-2015 02:43 PM

I also had a funny taste in my mouth for the first 2 weeks...I thought it was just me!

Sunday night......Now Ive got that sinking depressed feeling in my gut.....

I know its just my body going thru changes of sobriety but I havent been this far in over a year or two....day 7....

I know deep down it'll pass just like all the other manifestations but I feel so sad....

uugghh

Dee74 12-20-2015 03:54 PM
