Has anyone tried hypnotherapy to deal with Generalized Anxiety Disorder?

Or CBT?

The drinking sure never helped with it, just woke up more anxious.

It was good to see your post as I have not heard from you in a while and have wondered how you are. I have been meaning to message you as you have been on my mind.

Regarding the topic of your thread; I have heard that people have seen good results with CBT therapy so it might be worth a try. You are definitely right that drinking only leads to more anxiety the next day and often more problems because of what we sometimes do when we drink so it is not a good solution.

Anyway, take care. I hope you find some help soon as I know you have struggled for some time now.

Kelly, I don't know anything about hypnotherapy and from a search on SR, I don't see rave reviews for its effectiveness. But CBT has a good reputation among licensed clinical psychologists and researchers for its effectiveness in treating a lot of specific and generalized anxiety disorders.

I wish you the best!
