Do some meds cause drop in BP?
I've been having some dizzy spells and almost collapsing. My diet is in check. So if it's hypoglycemia, it's somehow beating my diet. Had an MRI taken to rule out possible brain issues. Dr. said there was no problem, no infarctions old or new. He suggested maybe I had sleep apnea and wasn't resting properly.
While I check out the sleep centers and see what they can do for me, I've also checked online. I see that some sites have meds such as SSRI's and benzos as possible medicine that drops blood pressure. When too low, this can cause the same dizziness symptoms. I've had them even after taking a valium to ward off a possible attack during any of my speeches and they don't always work. I feel calmer when they happen, but they still happen.
Anyone else have experience with BP issues? Not going high but low? Caffeine is suppose to raise BP but I always thought it was a trigger for panic attacks etc. I cut caffeine out of my diet long long ago.

I would suggest googling the medication and checking to see what the side effects of the ones you are taking are. Also speaking to your prescribing doctor about your concerns.

don't let your doctor dismiss this as a sleep problem...dizziness is also caused by BP being too high...you don't mention if you are underweight or overweight which could also affect you.
you can get a BP cuff to keep a record at home of not only your BP, but your resting HR.
DX'ing over internet information is not the best idea...you can adapt almost anything to your own problems.
IDK how much valium you are taking-how often but this might also be part of the problem.

I'm overweight due to my powerlifting routine and diet. I've shifted to a weightlifting routine and newer diet to drop body mass (Muscle and fat...unfortunately, when you lose weight you lose some of both).
My doctor never seemed concerned. I also do a BP check before going into the gym and I'm at 120ish over 80ish. When I finish up I'm at 95ish over 55ish. I know BP changes throughout the day.
I plan on getting an oximeter to measure BP and oxygen content during some of my speeches. The data can be monitored after. I hope I can figure this out. Seeing a sleep specialist in about an hour.

Mine turned out to be a combo of low iron and some other malabsorbtion issues (I had gastric bypass about 9 years ago). Ruling out the other stuff can be a little nerve wracking. Hope you get some answers soon.
