Welcome san migel, We all shre in your struggle with addiction. I've been in and out of AA, tried different programs etc. The ponit is that you and I are here talking about it and that is a start. Welcome, to SR.

:c005: Hi again...here is what I shared before with you.
i can't think of anything more helpful Sam..

For understanding alcoholism...I recommend...

"Under The influence"
and it's sequel
"Beyond The Influence"

are books are carried by Amazon

The information In 'Under" is what finally got me to quit.
I was in and out of AA for 4 years before I found the book.
I renewed my AA committment and have not had another drink.

You too can stay sober...Blessings..

Hi, im Sharon and im an Alcoholic.

Thanks for sharing san migel.

Glad u r here.

Reading is good if u can comprehend it. There is alot of good reading available out there and the one they use mostly and mainly in AA meetings is the Big Book Of Alcoholic Anonymous. That book was one of the recovery tools given to me when i went thru a 28 day rehab back in Aug. 90.

For me back then and still today i have a hard time comprehending things that have to be read. Now if u explained it in simpliest terms like as if u were talking to a child, then i can understand some of it. : )

Me, I would rather go to AA meetings and listen to the words and hear others share their own experiences, strengths and hopes in person and by their own word of mouth.

Putting ur recovery and working the 12 steps into action is what will help u stay sober one day at a time.

The first 3 Steps are very important in building a solid foundation in recovery. ADMITTING U HAVE A PROBLE WITH ALCOHOL. ACCEPTING U HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ALCOHOL. AND BELIEVING IN SOMETHING GREATER THAN URSELF TO HELP U STAY SOBER.

There are lots of wonderful people here in SR that share daily their own ESH with us. Return here often and hang on as others will be along soon to share with u in hopes to help u stay sober and begin ur journey in recovery.

Thanks for letting me share.
