A Clear Mind...... It's been 6 days since I've had a drink and I FEEL GREAT!!!! My workouts and runs have been awesome!:) I have noticed that I'm becoming more stressed about...well...pretty much everything. Now that I've decided to put the bottle down, I have a much much clearer mind, which is great, but I don't enjoy the stress. Just wanted to share....Have A Wonderful Day!!! Cheers to Sobriety! :sun2 |

Hi boo.b.good, I just went to a hypnotherapist to help me with my quitting smoking and pot. I said that I was an alcoholic, he said that he thinks it is not so much about alcohol but about how we handle stress. This makes sense to me because I find it is the times where I feel uncomfortable or worried that I am vulnerable to chemicals that my body really doesn't react well to. So it is finding new ways to cope with stress that will help me ultimately be chemical free and non dependent on those things. One thing that he did for me was help me find a quiet, peaceful place inside where I feel safe and secure and I can go to if I need to. He also reinforced for me that I am a good person, capable and able to cope with things like other people can. I guess, best of all, was that the answers are inside me and if I can sort through the mixed messages of my body and mind and work out the ones that are purely me, I am intelligent enough to do this. For now, my mind is stronger than my body. When my body gets healthier I will start listening to it again, but until then, it is my head that rules. Maybe you could read into some stress management literature. But I think you have found a very real and important area to learn about. lots of love, Brigid :) |
