Headaches??
Headaches??
Are headaches a common part of the withdrawl process?? I'm on day 7...and for the past 48 hours I've had an on and off again splitting headache. I don't normally get headaches (except the the hung-over kind in the past), so I thought maybe it had something to do with this sudden lack of alcohol...

Welcome midgetcop
This is something that veries from person to person,I do recall have magor headaches but this to will pass. What you could try and worked for me was to incerase my suger and fluid intake as this seemed to be the cause of most of my headaches. Hope you win and see you around the site a lot more.

well, lots of reasons
see a doctor
but
try to set a schedule for eating
check your diet
get enough sleep
get a mediatation music cd
or some easy listening music and relax
could be the coffee??????????????????????????????????????
i for one
did not even take aspirins
for a long time
and
just rode out the headache
got to a meeting

YES! Oh, I had the WORST headaches a couple weeks into sobriety. I could find no other reason for them other than detox, so that's what I figured it was. They lasted for a couple weeks and then went away. I just kept drinking loads of water & herbal teas (to supplement my, ahem, increased intake of coffee) and that seemed to help a little bit.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the link, CarolD. I have actually checked my eyes a few weeks ago for a job application, so I think I can rule that out.
I feel better this afternoon....but then again, I just woke up, so we'll see how I feel once I get to work.
Wow. This is the longest I've been without alcohol in about 7 years....

WOW! Midgetcop! Well done !
Yep, I had the headaches as well, a couple of weeks they lasted. As has been suggested, drink plenty of fluids, and up ya sugar. I was advised of that here at SR when i was newly sober, and it worked ! LOL
