Nearly three weeks
Hello Everyone,
It's been nearly three weeks since I've had any alcohol and I'm starting to feel pretty good. I am also realising how little fun i was having while drinking. These thoughts are strange to me as I always thought I was going out to have fun.
I also would like to thank all of you forum members. You have all been a big help in understanding myself. It is strange to me how a commitment to a bunch of strangers can help keep me from giving in to my triggers.
Thanks

Meat,
Well done on your three weeks. You have every right to be proud of yourself. I try to rremember how good it felt at first to wake up sober and without those dreadful feelings of self-loathing and guilt. I try to measure my feelings against the alcohol drenched ghastliness I used to experience. It makes me feel good to be alive. I hope you are getting similar benefit.
Best wishes
Michael

Congratulations on your sobriety!! Great stuff, it took me a lot longer than 3 weeks to work out that drinking was not fun. Good on you.

Meat, there is an oldtimer at my home group who has been sober since 1969. He always ends his shares with this saying "It's always better when we do it together. Keep coming back!" It has gotten to the point where everyone in the meeting says it with him LOL! And it's true. It is easier to know we're not alone whether we are face to face or online!
Congratulations on your 3 weeks and keep up the great work!
Hugs,
Kellye

Thx guys - i made it through another weekend
This was the toughest one yet as I played horrible golf all weekend long with some folks who aren't my favorite to play with (constant chirping) - three weeks ago this would have sent me into about 2 litres of whiskey over the weekend - instead I got some exercise and worked out my stress to better myself (this is the thought I used to keep from boozing).
Again realizing that problems on the golf course are not going to be fixed by making myself sick and more depressed. Maybe I'll learn to enjoy golf again if I'm not associating it with a 3 day bender. We'll see.
Thanks again to all of you
