Life Insurance w alcohol background
I have life insurance in place, and I recently applied to try and get a new policy (for a lower cost). My original policy was written when I was still boozin it up and it was approved - now I say that I quit drinking and that I go to AA (and my blood work is much better), and I get denied!!!!!
Has anyone had a similar experience or success in obtaining life insurance after quitting drinking?

Yes I was refused a bank life insurance policy. The problem is that many companies have fine print if you've lied. I was on a jury one time. They asked the woman if she had ever lied to gain money. She said no. They produced a copy of an application for insurance where she claimed to never have been under treatment for a mental disorder. She had already testified she had been under treatment for years. Don W
Till insurance companies start looking at alcoholism and drug addiction as a disease or illness... I wouldn't call it such either on their forms.
They ask a direct question, they will get a direct answer. The whole truth as we know it is not the same truth as they wish to call it. I will provide them with ...their truth... on their forms. No volunteer of info to them on my part. Only give them what they ask for.
