well, judging by the response to this post I really should apply for that bank loan for an office HQ, two tons of literature, all the church halls we can hire, and as many SoS t-shirts as possible. We will fill every London church twice over!!!
no, it will just be me. sigh.

Mill,
I tried here where I live and could not keep it going. But I live in small town America so the odds were against me. I think if you started one meeting, went to all the treatment centers, hospitals and clinics, social service offices, and anywhere with open bulletin boards, and hang up fliers, you could get some participants. I would go with LifeRing over SOS, because the philosophy is identical (LifeRing came from SOS), but LifeRing is more proactive, provides more support and encouragement for starting meetings and is growing much faster. Just compare their websites. But either way, you can do it!

In essence, they are. But they are two different organizations. SOS is governed by The Council For Secular Humanism and LifeRing is self-governed by alcoholics and addicts. Honestly, I wish they hadn't split, they would be stronger together. That said, I found this:

he he, sorry Rich. I'll let you know of any developments.
In the meantime, I am looking for more recovery pals in the London area - mainly to just meet up for coffee once and a while...so if you fancy it, dont fail to get in touch....

Millwall,
"If you build it they will come",
I may be wrong but isn't that a line from Kevin Costner's baseball film Field of Dreams?
Now I am more a cricket fan myself, great improvement on rounders, and whilst I would struggle to get into a village team's reserves I would be glad to meet up in London.
Look forward to seeing you soon.
