Day 3

I know it's only Day 3, but I cannot tell you how happy I am to be sober today. I woke up this morning to let the dog out. I opened the door, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and I said 'I get to enjoy this today!!! Yeah!'

Yesterday was a tough day. It was planned that my brother and nieces were coming over for a cookout. So, he's slamming the beers and the grill is cooking burgers and I wanted a beer sooooo bad. My heart was racing, the alchy in me was trying to come up with every reason why it would be ok to drink. But guess what, the desire to stay sober won out!! I kept myself busy, took the dog for a walk, played soccer with my girls and went to bed clean and sober.

I'm the dancing bannana today!

luv to all

Big ups livaphluv!

You've found the pink cloud and the blue sky. The intensity of the pink cloud will ebb and flow, but the blue sky just goes on and on and on...
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I’ve been prayin for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there’s nothin but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin but blue skies

Whoo hoo! I feel the same way, I've had such an enjoyable holiday weekend - SOBER!!!

Be careful with being around people who are drinking. For me, it really is about people places and things. I won't have alcohol in my house now. Period. Perhaps I will be able to tolerate it after I get some time, but for now, it's too much of a temptation.

Congrats on 3 days!!

Congratulations on making it through a temptation filled holiday sober. It isn't an easy thing to do. It does continue to get easier. Stay strong and motivated. Sober life is much better than a drunken one. I'm glad those days are getting further and further behind me. With each passing day we become stronger.
