I need a pep talk or a smack to get me back to my senses

OK. It is Friday (the doorway to the weekend) and we all know what this meant before our sobriety - party time and then four (or so) hours later feeling really sh*tty. I was wondering if you folks would kindly share some thoughts to keep me, and possibly others, from giving into the urge to drink. I picked up the book, A Million Little Pieces, from the library today and plan on reading it to get me through the night - read the first chapter and it is pretty good. I thought some positive statements or harsh reminders from others will keep us moving forward.

Thanks for any insight you can give.

Hey goneriding, think about what is going to happen you drink you get drunk and you just might get locked up. that sounds like a real good time heh and then you feel like crap. Why not stay sober and go on that bike ride and realy have good clean fun. Thats what i do.

Yep BikerBill8 - Thankfully, I have never been locked up - although I have amazed myself by making home numerous times drunk on my bike. I did manage to get a ride in today, it was very nice. If my kiddos weren't home from school, I would probably go on another.

I think I am going to run to Braums before I pick up my daughter from Softball practice and get some ice cream for later tonight. I have not had ice cream in a while. Hmmmm, which flavor to buy??????

Quadruple chocolate.
With chocolate chips.
And get a bottle of chocolate syrup too.
That stuff works

Well, I made it back from Braums and got some chocolate chip cookie dough, some peppermint and some light after dinner min, oh and some light chocolate syrup. I believe that should do it. Just finished dinner - drinking some tea and honey and getting ready to dip in to the ice cream when the kiddos go to bed.
